UxStyle Core Beta Available

Rafael, from Within Windows, has released the beta bits for UxStyle. UxStyle is the new way of running third-party visual styles for Microsoft Windows. UxStyle runs in the background, and instead of patching the files, UxStyle uses a method that lets themes “just work” with no patching needed. Sound interesting? Download it, and try it for yourself.

You can read more about UxStyle at Within Windows.

Yes, I can give my approval on using UxStyle. I am using it right now. I installed, downloaded the Alduin Visual Style, and applied the theme. Easy as that! Great work Rafael!

Let us, and Rafael’s team know, if you get any problems.

Update: Restarting or turning off the computer, stops the service, and there is no way to start the service again unless “Unsigned Themes” service listed in “services.msc” or “UnsignedThemesSvc.exe” is found in the Windows directory (C:\Windows).

Update 2: The only fix I know for this right now, is to uninstall the beta then reinstall it. Rafael is looking into this problem.
